WHAT IS THE ADMISSION PROCESS?
ADMISSIONS
A complete application for admissions folder includes the following:
- Application for Admissions
- Entering Student Survey
- ACT or Compass Scores
- High School Transcript or GED
- College Transcripts, if you have attended another college
It is important that you have a complete file in order to receive financial aid and to be classified as a degree seeking student.
ASSESSMENT
If your ACT score is below an 18 in Reading, Math or English, you will be required to take the Compass Placement Exam. The results will be used to help in recommending/placing you in appropriate courses, based on your academic background.
ACADEMIC ADVISING
You will be assigned an academic advisor at the time of registration to assist you in completing your schedule of classes.
DETERMINING YOUR COURSE WORK LOAD?
A semester credit hour is defined as the number of hours per week you attend class during a traditional 16 week semester. Usually one credit hour requires one hour of class attendance each week. Laboratory classes usually require more time in the classroom.
In order to be considered a full-time student you must enroll in 12 credit hours.
